Course Documentation

On this page you can find a list of relevant courses I have taken thus far in my career at Clemson University, separated by subject. With each course is a brief description and evaluation. In the sub-tabs of this page, you can find several examples of works completed during these courses.

Spanish:

  • 2010: Intermediate Spanish to practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing. This class served as a review of high school Spanish and covered the basics of grammar.

  • 2020: Continuation of SPAN 2010 to cover further grammar structures and vocabulary words. Class was fully conducted in Spanish.

  • 3020: Intensive review of Spanish structure and grammar. Contained a lot of reading comprehension and writing practice. Class was fully conducted in Spanish.

  • 3050: Focused on practicing spoken Spanish with focus on vocabulary, pronunciation, intonation, and comprehension. Class was fully conducted in Spanish.

  • 3160: Introduction to commercial Spanish for international business. Primary goal is to gain a better understanding of the Spanish professional world. Class was fully conducted in Spanish.

  • 4160: Currently in progress; Continuation of SPAN 3160. studying more complex business vocabulary, cultural concepts, and environment of Hispanic markets of Spain and Latin America. Class is fully conducted in Spanish.

  • 3040: Introduction to Hispanic literary forms – poetry, fiction, drama, and essay. Main goal was to gain an understanding of Hispanic culture. better comprehend written and spoken Spanish, and improve abilities of analyzing literature. Class was fully conducted in Spanish

  • 3070: Introduction to the significant aspects of the culture of Spain from its origins to the present. Learned about Spanish wars, culture, literature, and politics. Class was fully online asynchronous.

 

Business:

  • MGT 2010: Management’s role as a factor of economic production. Introduction to business management and the important vocabulary and processes used.

  • MGT 2180: Learning to use excel. Class was fully online and asynchronous with hands on assignments using excel worksheets.

  • MGT 3100: Intermediate business statistics using excel. The goal is to be able to use this knowledge in the real world to evaluate new process/products statistically. Class is currently in progress.

  • MGT 3900: Operations management to examine the role of operations in manufacturing and service organizations. Discusses how to identify the bottleneck and improve efficiency in a process. Class is currently in progress.

  • MGT 4230: Considers how management techniques vary depending on the culture. Also discusses foreign investment, importing, exporting, multinational corporations, and international payment systems.

  • ACCT 2010: Introduction to principles of accounting in order to increase understanding of financial data and how to analyze it.

  • ENGL 3040: Understanding how to write in a professional setting when considering your audience, context, purpose, and strategies. 

  • MKT 3010: Introduction of how companies successfully promote, price, and distribute their products. This was a very interesting class to me.

  • MKT 3020: Learning about how consumers behave, which allows a better understanding of how you should market certain products or services.

  • MKT 4270: This was my favorite class that I have taken at Clemson. It provided a broader perspective of the world, introducing the variance of marketing strategies depending on culture

 

Psychology:

  • 2010: Introduction to the study of behavior. Learned the most prevalent psychologists, their theories, and how they apply to everyday life.

  • 3330: Study of higher-order mental processing in humans. Cognitive psychology focused a lot on the physical structure of the brain and what impact that has on our behavior.

  • 3310: Studying the use of critical thinking and cause-effect reasoning. Learned the difference between correlation and causation and how to understand these differences when reading about politics or science and when making personal decisions.

  • 3680: Analysis of individual behavior for the purpose of investigating problems in organizations and increasing organization effectiveness. Large focus on increasing motivation and engagement in the workplace. Class currently in progress.
